The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine should appeal to the Cabinet of Ministers during the current plenary week with the request to create a separate ministry for war veterans, as well as to resolve the issue with electronic declaration for anti-corruption agencies, the head of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc faction, Artur Herasymov, has said.

“We believe that the list of these issues [social protection of military personnel] must include a draft resolution on the appeal of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to the Cabinet of Ministers regarding the creation of the ministry of Ukraine for veterans – No. 7505,” he said at a meeting of the conciliatory council of the leaders of parliamentary factions, committees and groups in Kyiv on Feb.26.

Herasymov noted that a lot of ministries and other state agencies were engaged in questions of war veterans, but there should be a single state body dealing with these issues.

In addition, he said that his faction demanded that parliament allow the concerned committee to start work on a bill on the Anti-Corruption Court, including it in the agenda of the session.

“We also demand an effective vote on the bills submitted by the president of Ukraine regarding the abolition of electronic declaration for public organizations. I mean No. 6675, No. 6674,” he said.

In addition, he said that an urgent task at the upcoming plenary week in parliament were personnel issues, first and foremost, the election of a new governor of the National Bank of Ukraine.

According to him, it is necessary to appoint new members of the Central Election Commission as soon as possible, as well as to elect an auditor of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU).
