The delegation of the prosecutor’s office of Ukraine completed a working visit to London, during which agreements were reached on cooperation on an ongoing basis with the International Anti-Corruption Coordination Center of Great Britain, the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office reported.

“In London, the capital of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Yevhen Yenin held bilateral meetings with representatives of the competent bodies of the United Kingdom, in particular, the Serious Fraud Office (SFO), as well as the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. The parties discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation in the sphere of international cooperation in the course of criminal proceedings,” it said on February 15.

The information says that during the visit the Deputy Prosecutor General agreed to cooperate on an ongoing basis with the International Anti-Corruption Coordination Center of Great Britain (IACCC). “This will ensure the acceleration of the exchange of information with foreign counterparts in the field of combating corruption,” the office said.

The International Anti-Corruption Coordination Center of Great Britain is based on the results of the anti-corruption summit of 2016 in London and officially started its activity in July 2017.

This structure brings together representatives of the United States, Australia, the United Kingdom, Singapore, New Zealand and Canada to improve the speed of the exchange of information in corrupt investigations, and also helps countries that incurred significant losses from corruption crimes, bring those responsible to justice and return illegally withdrawn funds.

“From now on, Ukrainian law enforcers do not have to wait for several years to receive information from the United States, Britain, Singapore, Interpol, etc. – the Prosecutor General’s Office has established contact with the International Anti-Corruption Coordination Center,” Yenin said.
