You're reading: PGO finishes investigating ‘Arbuzov case’ involving Hr 220 million embezzlement from NBU

Ukraine’s Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) has completed its pretrial investigation of ex-National Bank of Ukraine Governor Serhiy Arbuzov, Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko has said.

“The PGO’s Department of International Legal Cooperation completed the pretrial investigation into the case of the ex-NBU head and ex-Deputy Prime Minister Arbuzov, who is charged with abusing his official position as part of a criminal organization, which led to the embezzlement of NBU assets in the amount of Hr 220 million,” Lutsenko said on Facebook on Thursday morning.

He added that after getting acquainted with the materials of criminal proceedings, the case will be transferred to the court.

Arbuzov is being investigated under Part 4 of Article 28 and Part 5 Article 191 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code (misappropriation, embezzlement or his seizure by abusing his official position, committed on a large scale or by an organized group).
