You're reading: PGO notifies former head of Obukhiv District Court of suspicion

The former head of the Obukhiv District Court in Kyiv region has been notified of suspicion in unjust decisions issued by judges to participants of peaceful rallies in January 2014, the media liaisons department of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine has reported.

“During the pre-trial investigation, pursuant to Articles 111, 135, 278 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, a notice of suspicion was reported to the former head of the Obukhiv District Court in Kyiv region and a judge of the court in making unjust decisions that unlawfully brought to administrative responsibility the participants of a rally on December 29, 2013 in the presidential residence in Mezhyhiria and imposed maximum possible penalties in the form of deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of six months, on the basis of a criminal offense envisaged by Part 2, Article 375 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine,” reads a report posted on the PGO website on February 27.

The report notes that the PGO’s department for special investigations is investigating criminal proceedings due to unjust decisions made by the judges in January 2014 against participants in peaceful protests, which led to their unjustified administrative liability, further hiding the commission of these grave crimes and official negligence, as well as interference in the work of the automated document circulation system of the said court on the grounds of a crime foreseen in Part 2, Article 375, Part 1, Article 396, Part 1, Article 367 and Part 1, Article 376-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
