Poland has decided not to imprint images of Polish military graves in the Lychakiv Cemetery in Lviv on the pages of Polish passports, the Ukrainian Ambassador to Poland Andriy Deshchytsia has said.
“Polish Interior and Administration Minister Mariusz Blaszczak said that there would be no images of Lychakiv Cemetery and Vilnius Gate [of Dawn] in the new Polish passports,” the Ukrainian ambassador wrote on Facebook on September 11.
He also attached a link to his report on a relevant material in the Polish edition of Wiadomosci.
As earlier reported, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry handed over a note of protest to Polish Ambassador to Ukraine Jan Pieklo over Warsaw’s plans to imprint images of a chapel situated in the Lychakiv Cemetery in Ukraine’s Lviv on the pages of Poland’s new passports.
