Citizens of Ukraine have the best attitude toward Germany and Belarus, and the worst – toward Russia, an opinion poll conducted by the Center for Social and Marketing Research “SOCIS” has shown.

In particular, “very positive” and “rather positive” attitude toward Germany and Belarus have 84.1 percent of those polled, with “rather negative” and “very negative” attitude toward Germany having 6.3 percent of those polled and 8.2 percent — toward Belarus. Some 9.6 percent and 7.7 percent of those polled respectively could not provide an answer.

Also, 82.1 percent of the Ukrainians polled said they have a positive attitude toward Georgia, and 81.8 percent — toward Poland. Negative attitude toward these two countries have 7.2 percent and 8.6 percent of the respondents respectively. Some 10.6 percent and 9.6 percent of those polled respectively could not provide an answer.

Positive attitude toward the United States have 72.7 percent of those polled, with 17.2 percent being negative about the U.S. Some 10.2 percent of those polled couldn’t answer the question.

At the same time, only 25.2 percent of the respondents were “very positive” and “rather positive” about Russia, with “rather negative” and “very negative” attitude toward Russia having 64.4 percent of those polled. Another 10.5 percent of the respondents couldn’t answer the question.

The opinion poll was conducted in all the regions across Ukraine on Dec. 8-18. A total of 2,000 respondents were polled in face-to-face interviews at their homes.
