Eleven thousand Ukrainians have been killed since the beginning of the Russian aggression in Donbas, according to Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko’s statement on July 21.

“Eleven thousand Ukrainians have given their lives over all the days of the aggression, without making a distinction between civilians and the military,” Poroshenko said while speaking in Kyiv.

At the same time, the United Nations in June said that 10,090 people were killed during the conflict, which includes members of the separatist forces.

Eight Ukrainian servicemen have died in Donbas in the past two days alone, Poroshenko said, accusing the adversary of disrupting the so-called “harvest truce.”
