The Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) in Donbas in May will be completed in view of the change in the format of the operation to a military one, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said.
“The ATO will be finished in May. We are moving to another format of the country’s defense in accordance with the law passed by the parliament,” Poroshenko said at a press conference in Vinnytsia on April 5.
At the same time, the president added: “The format of the ATO will be changed into the appropriate military format under the leadership of General Nayev, who is appointed by my decree.”
