Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko has stresses the need for the soonest consideration of the energy sector reform at a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) and the National Reform Council.

“The government together with the National Commission (National Commission for Energy, Housing and Utilities Services Regulation, NCER) should draft an action plan for the implementation of the law [on electricity market] as soon as possible… And as soon as possible, this action plan to reform the energy industry should be considered at a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council – it is a matter of national security, to the meeting of the National Reform Council,” Poroshenko said during a visit to a visit to the Trypilska combined heat and power plant (CHPP) in Kyiv region on June 8.
