President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has congratulated the Muslims of the country on the holiday of Eid al-Fitr, which ends Ramadan.
“The Ukrainian Muslim community has been and is an active participant of socio-political processes in Ukraine and thanks to its firm patriotic civil position has won authority and respect,” says the president’s congratulatory message posted on the president’s website on June 15.
“The dramatic events of recent years, the confrontation of Russian aggression brought together various religious communities in our country. We, the Ukrainians, have demonstrated that together we can defend independence, territorial integrity of Ukraine, our freedom and the faith that our ancestors bequeathed to us. I am sure that the unity of society is the guarantee of the victory and prosperity of the Ukrainian state,” Poroshenko said and wished the Ukrainian Muslim community good, harmony and prosperity.
