You're reading: Poroshenko creates post of PGO Communications Prosecutor for Eurojust

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has created in the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine the post of Communications Prosecutor for the European Organization for Justice (Eurojust), who will ensure the exchange of information with representatives of Eurojust member states.

Relevant decree No. 128/2018 dated May 17 was made public on the presidential website.

“To determine that the Prosecutor on Communications for the European Organization for Justice Affairs is the prosecutor of the General Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine, who was sent in the established manner to the post of adviser of the diplomatic mission of Ukraine in a foreign country at the location of the European Organization for Justice (Eurojust) to perform the functions of ensuring cooperation within the framework of the Agreement on Cooperation between Ukraine and the European Organization for Justice Affairs,” the document says.

The decree notes that the main functions of the Communications Prosecutor for Eurojust are to ensure the exchange of information with representatives of Eurojust member states and the development of relevant documents; assistance in coordinating the interaction of law enforcement agencies of the state with the competent authorities of Eurojust Member States, as well as interaction with Eurojust officials and representatives of Eurojust member states.

This decree comes into force from the date of its publication.
