You're reading: Poroshenko, Duda to discuss security and defense cooperation in Kharkiv

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko will hold a meeting with the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda in Kharkiv on Dec. 13, the press service of the Ukrainian presidential administration reported.

“The main topic of the talks will be strategic issues of bilateral political cooperation, as well as strengthening cooperation in the field of security and defense, including in the context of counteracting Russian aggression,” the message said on Dec. 12 posted on the website of the Ukrainian president.

As reported, Duda is to visit the east Ukrainian city of Kharkov on Dec. 13, where he is scheduled to meet with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.

Security policy in the context of the situation in eastern Ukraine tops the agenda of the talks. Duda also plans to meet with members of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine and UNDP representatives, as well as honor the memory of Polish soldiers killed by the Soviet NKVD and buried in Kharkiv’s cemetery of victims of totalitarianism.
