Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko are meeting on Oct. 9 afternoon in the Presidential Administration of Ukraine in Kyiv.

Erdogan together with his wife Emine came to the presidential administration on Oct. 9 afternoon, where they were met by Poroshenko and his wife Maryna. On the occasion of the arrival of the Turkish president in Ukraine, the soldiers of the presidential regiment and the orchestra, who performed hymns of the two countries, lined up in front of the presidential administration of Ukraine. After that, the presidents greeted the soldiers of the honor guard, members of the governments of the two states and went to the administration building, an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reported.

It is expected that the presidents will hold a meeting in the “tet-a-tete” format. Also, within the framework of the visit of the Turkish president, the sixth meeting of the High-Level Strategic Council between Ukraine and Turkey will take place under the co-chairmanship of the two presidents.

In addition, during the meeting the parties will discuss ways to deepen cooperation in all strategic directions. Following the results of the Strategic Council, a number of bilateral documents are planned to be signed.

The president of Turkey has also scheduled meetings with Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman and Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy.

The press service of Erdogan announced the signing of a number of documents and protocols on deepening the relations of strategic partnership of both countries. Questions of the Crimean Tatar people will also be raised.
