WASHINGTON – President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko expects the Ukraine-EU Association Agreement will enter into force in a full scale on Sept. 1.

“I am flying straight forward from Washington to Brussels to take part in the transfer of ratification certificates signed by His Majesty the King of the Netherlands. And this is the last country that completes the ratification process, and Ukraine, since September 1, has the great honor with the Association Agreement entering into force,” the president said when interacting with the Ukrainian community in Washington.

He said that Russia was making great obstacles in this way, so that the ratification of this document would not take place.

“We have overcome the enormous resistance that Russia tried to implement in order to prevent the ratification of the association agreement with the European Union,” Poroshenko said.
