You're reading: Poroshenko to be interrogated in court on Yanukovych high treason case next week

The Obolonsky District Court of Kyiv on the case of state treason of former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych plans to interrogate President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, prosecutor in the case Ruslan Kravchenko has said.

“Before the beginning of the court session, answering a question from journalists who still has to be interrogated, Kravchenko answered: “Next week we plan to question Ukrainian ambassador to the UN Yelchenko, as well as President of Ukraine Poroshenko, Petro Oleksiyovych.”

He also noted that these would be the last witnesses on the part of the prosecution.

“This is the end of the questioning of witnesses by the prosecution,” Kravchenko said.

Obolonsky District Court of Kyiv on the case of state treason of ex-President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych on February 14-15 will interrogate Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov, former State Duma deputy Ilya Ponomarev and former acting Ukraine’s Minister of Defense Mykhailo Koval. As the Prosecutor of the Main Military Prosecutor’s Office Ruslan Kravchenko told Interfax-Ukraine, Ponomarev will be questioned as a witness on the charges on February 14, and Turchynov on February 15.
