The results of the preliminary investigation into the crash of a Malaysia Airlines Boeing in Donbas in the summer of 2014 have proved that Russia did play a part in the tragedy, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said.

“Today the international investigation group put a full stop in this case: they (the investigators) are confirming that the fall of the aircraft was caused by an explosion of a warhead installed on a missile launched by a Russian Buk anti-aircraft missile complex. It was confirmed that the Buk ended up on our territory from Russia’s. After the crime, when the terrorists where trying to cover up their track, this Buk was urgently driven across the Ukrainian-Russian border,” Poroshenko said at a meeting of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council on Sept. 28.
