You're reading: Poroshenko introduces bill on Free Trade Area ratification between Ukraine, Canada

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko according to the Article 93 of the Constitution of Ukraine and the Article of the Law “On International Treaties of Ukraine” has introduced a draft law “On ratification of the Agreement on Free Trade Area (FTA) between Ukraine and Canada” to the Verkhovna Rada, defining it as urgent for the extraordinary review, the press service of the head of state has said.

The law ratifies the agreement signed between the two countries in July this year.

It is expected that the implementation of the document provisions will contribute to the development of bilateral trade and economic cooperation between Ukraine and Canada, will allow domestic producers to benefit from duty-free access to the markets of Canada, will provide opportunities for Ukrainian business for the expansion of markets, and for the development and modernization of our own production to improve competitiveness in new markets. It is also expected that the implementation of the Agreement will help create new jobs in Ukraine.
