Yushchenko would have been arriving late (if at all) for a meeting with Pence, while boring everybody with long, pointless speeches; Yanukovych would have been a joke and an embarrassment; and Poroshenko is a polished, respected and serious head of state who leaves favorable opinions and brings back support for Ukraine. Just think of all the others we know in Ukraine as potential replacements and it will become clear how they pale in comparison.
