Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande have agreed on the need to continue work on preparations of the road map of the Minsk Agreements implementation in a telephone conversation.

The sides discussed the state of the implementation of the Minsk Agreements on the settlement of the Donbas situation and pointed out the need to make progress in implementing their security block, the Ukrainian presidential press service said on Jan. 16.

“The sides noted Ukraine’s consistent efforts aimed at a peaceful settlement, in particular, in freeing 15 people unilaterally and ensuring water supply to certain areas of the Luhansk region,” the press service said.

At that, during the conversation, Poroshenko drew the attention of Merkel and Hollande to the unacceptable situation involving captives and Ukrainian citizens imprisoned in Russia.

The Ukrainian president also thanked the German chancellor and the French president for their continued support in the fight for the restoration of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and the implementation of the full-scale reform program.
