The Kremlin will not be able to ignite a war on religious grounds in Ukraine, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has said.

“The government officials, journalists are turning to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, the Holy Church, as stated in the tomos. We must admit that this is precisely why the Kremlin dislikes so much our autocephaly. This is only an additional argument that we are moving in the right direction. But the Kremlin can only oppose to our victory with dirty fakes or an attempt to heat confrontation on religious grounds. But I declared and declare now that Moscow won’t be able to do anything,” Poroshenko said at a meeting with residents of Zdolbunivsky district of Rivne region on Thursday.
