You're reading: Poroshenko opens two restored bridges in Donetsk region

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko during his working trip to Donetsk region took part in the ceremony of opening restored bridges across the Kazeny Torets and Siversky Donets rivers, the press service of the head of state has reported.

“Opening of the reconstructed bridges across two rivers in Donbas – Kazeny Torets and Siversky Donets – is a simple and clear manifestation of revival of the country. The third, televised bridge, will help us to join the solemn ceremony. This event is a good sign for the entire Ukraine and especially for the region,” he said.

“People in the occupied territories saw that our first priority is the reconstruction of the liberated Donbas, creation of normal living conditions, construction of bridges, schools, kindergartens and houses,” the president said.

The restoration of a bridge across the Siversky Donets River near Zakotne settlement was started on September 26, 2016. Hr 36 million was sent from the national regional development fund and Hr 4 million from the regional budget.

The agreement to build a bridge across the Kazeny Torets River near Semenivka settlement was signed on September 12, 2016. Hr 33.5 million was allocated from the national regional development fund and Hr 3.7 million from the regional budget.
