Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has plans to go on a visit to Germany on April 10.

“On April 10, I am going to Berlin. We [I and German Chancellor Angela Merkel] will talk about peacekeepers,” Poroshenko said when talking to residents in Mariupol, Donetsk region, on April 1.

“Why is that so important? Because when peacekeepers are everywhere from Novoazovsk to Stanytsia Luhanska, when they are in Donetsk and in Luhansk, there will be no place for the Russian army there, it will go away,” he said.

Poroshenko expressed confidence that under the pressure from the world community, Russia will finally agree to UN peacekeepers’ deployment in the entire territory of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

Poroshenko earlier revealed his plans to go on a visit to Germany “immediately after the Easter” (April 8).

The Ukrainian authorities are making all possible efforts to coordinate actions with partners in the Normandy Format in order to secure the UN Security Council’s decision on the peacekeepers that must ensure an effective implementation of the Minsk Agreements in Ukraine, he said.
