You're reading: Poroshenko pledges not to let Russia destabilize Ukraine

TALLINN – Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said he will do everything in his power not to allow destabilization in the country.

“I want to emphasize that we will not allow mistakes of the past, will not allow squabble within the team, we will not let [Russian President Vladimir] Putin destabilize the situation in the country,” he said in Tallinn when speaking with Ukrainian community in Estonia on Jan. 23.

Poroshenko noted that the Ukrainian authorities are holding the reform in the country. “We are doing everything – the decentralization, the efficient fight against corruption, the efficient cleansing of the judiciary,” the president of Ukraine said.

In addition, he recalled Ukraine is implementing the Association Agreement with the EU and is waiting for the cancellation of the visa regime by the EU.
