Proper financing of the State Border Guards Service of Ukraine is a priority, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said.
“At the moment… when almost 6 percent of the gross domestic product is spent on the defense and security sector, and the border guards receive proper financing – this is an absolute priority for me,” the president said during a meeting with border guards on the Ukrainian-Moldovan border on Friday afternoon.
He stressed that border guards are the elite of the Ukrainian nation, who risk their lives to defend the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
