During his visit in Malta Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko announced that the European Union is going to transfer 600 million euro macro-financial aid to Ukraine in the beginning of April.
“Following a meeting with Jean-Claude Juncker [the President of the European Commission] and the European commissioners, I am very pleased to inform you that next week, from April 3 to April 7, Ukraine is likely to receive a 600 million euro tranche of macro-financial assistance,” Poroshenko said.
He also assured that on April 3 the Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will make the decision on granting Ukraine a tranche of $1 billion.
“This will significantly strengthen the country’s forex reserves and the budget stability of the state,” Poroshenko said.
