President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko expects Ukraine will receive more than defensive weapons from the United States.
“I hope that this will not just be a defense arsenal, although it will significantly strengthen our defense capacity. We do not want and we hate the idea of attacking the enemy. We just want to confirm the fact that the aggressor will pay a much higher price if it violates Minsk agreements and attack my troops – it’s absolutely fair. But we want peace and I’m the president of peace,” he said at the 14th annual meeting of the Yalta European strategy on the topic “Is the world new today? And what does this mean for Ukraine?” in Kyiv on Sept. 15.
At the same time Poroshenko said that Ukraine is focused on achieving peace.
