You're reading: Poroshenko says Ukraine gets 300 million euro for building three subway stations

DNIPRO – Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko hopes the construction of three subway stations in the center of Dnipro will be completed in the next four years.

The president said during the inspection of one of the subway construction sites in the city that procedure of forming resources from the loans of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the European Investment Bank (EIB) has been completed.

“Due to the decision of the Verkhovna Rada and the government, including presidential decrees, we have received 300 million euro for subway construction. The work has started … The construction of the Dnipro metro is a symbol of cooperation between the EU and Ukraine,” Poroshenko said.

According to the official presidential website, due to the need to continue building the first stage of the metro line in Dnipro under the project “Completion of metro building in Dnipro,” Ukraine and the EBRD signed a credit agreement in the amount of 152 million euro, and Ukraine and the EIB signed a contract for the same sum.
