Ukraine will do all it can to bring to justice those involved in the downing of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17, President Petro Poroshenko has said.

“Three years ago, the world was stunned when the Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 carrying 298 people onboard was blown up in the skies over Donbas. Ukraine is determined to do everything to bring to justice those responsible for this mass murder,” he said in his speech at the general debate of the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly on Sept. 20.

Poroshenko said that technical and criminal investigations into this tragedy had been carried out and that both had revealed the details.

“Those who were behind this horrible crime came from Russia. The missile came from Russia. The death of the MH17 victims is on Russia’s conscience,” he said.

Poroshenko noted the five countries comprising the Joint Investigation Team had decided to prosecute those responsible for the downing of MH17 within the Dutch judicial system.
