You're reading: Poroshenko signs decree on celebrating Revolution of Dignity

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed a decree “On Celebrating the Day of Dignity and Freedom in 2018,” the official presidential website reported on Wednesday.

“The decree was issued to properly celebrate the Day of Dignity and Freedom on the fifth anniversary of the start of mass protest actions that took place during the Revolution of Dignity in November 2013 – February 2014, honoring the civil feat of the participants of the Orange Revolution and the Revolution of Dignity,” the message reads.

The act entrusts the Cabinet of Ministers to form an organizing committee for the preparation and celebration of the Day of Dignity and Freedom in 2018, to approve and ensure the implementation of the relevant plan of activities.

Separately, the government was tasked along with the Kyiv City State Administration, to provide for the National Memorial Complex for the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred – Museum of the Revolution of Dignity with the equipped premises to house expositions and storing of museum objects.
