President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed a decree “On a lump-sum monetary reward to persons who have been awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine for committing an outstanding heroic deed,” the press service of the head of state said.
According to the text of the decree, now the heroes of Ukraine will be paid a lump-sum monetary reward, and in case of assignment of the title posthumously or in the event of the death of the hero of Ukraine, a lump-sum monetary reward is paid to their families.
Also, the press service of the Presidential Administration noted that the lump-sum money reward is paid in 50-fold minimum subsistence level.
As noted, the decree takes effect from the date when it is published.
“Article 1 of the decree regarding the payment of a lump-sum monetary remuneration comes into force on January 1, 2020 and is applied regardless of the time when the title of Hero of Ukraine is awarded for an outstanding heroic deed,” the Administration added.
