President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed the law “On Amendments to Clause 62 Section V “Final Provisions” of the Law of Ukraine “On the Regulation of Urban Construction Activities” for the construction of the Memorial and Museum Complex of Heavenly Hundred Heroes,” the presidential press service said.

“Construction of the Memorial Museum Complex of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes can take place only on the Alley of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred. And nowhere else. This is a sacred place not only for all of us who were there holding the line, but also for every Ukrainian in Ukraine and the world,” the president said.

The document is aimed at securing the construction of a memorial and museum complex of Heavenly Hundred Heroes in the area on the Alley of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred in Kyiv.

The press service of the president recalled that on March 16, 2017, the law on measures to ensure the commemoration of the heroism of the participants in the revolution and perpetuation of the memory of Heroes of Heavenly Hundreds came into force. The territory, which will be covered by the construction and arrangement of the Memorial and Museum Complex of Heavenly Hundred Heroes, will consist of several land plots of communal property, as well as part of the state-owned land plot being in constant use of the state enterprise Hotel Ukraina.

The law specifies that the provision of the third part of Article 24 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Regulation of Urban Development” will not apply to the provision of land for the use of the National Memorial Complex of Heavenly Hundred Heroes – the Museum of Revolution of Dignity for the construction, operation and maintenance of the memorial and museum complex.
