Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko will soon submit to parliament a bill on amendments to legislation regarding the appointment and dismissal of the human rights commissioner (ombudsman) of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
“The procedure for appointing and dismissing the ombudsman requires a separate decision, the president will soon submit proposals to the parliament on amending the law on the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for human rights commissioner and the law on the Verkhovna Rada regulations in part dealing with appointment and dismissal of ombudsman,” the press service of the Ukrainian president said on August 1.
