You're reading: Poroshenko summoned for interrogation at State Bureau of Investigations

The State Bureau of Investigations (SBI) is calling the fifth President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko for questioning on Sept. 6, the SBI said.

“Poroshenko has been summoned to conduct investigative actions on Friday, Sept. 6,” Bureau spokeswoman Angelika Ivanova told Interfax-Ukraine.

However, she did not specify either the time of the interrogation or the criminal proceedings, within the framework of which investigative actions will be carried out.

At the same time, the applicant in criminal cases involving Poroshenko, ex-deputy head of the presidential administration of the time of Yanukovych, Andriy Portnov, said in his Telegram channel that the interrogation was scheduled for 10:00 a.m.

On Sept. 3, Poroshenko did not appear at the SBI to conduct investigative actions; his lawyer brought a statement about the good reason for the failure to appear – it was explained by his work in the Verkhovna Rada.
