Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko took part in the opening of the new building of the Halych district hospital in Ivano-Frankivsk region.

The press service of the Ukrainian president reported on Friday that the head of state reminded that outpatient clinics haven’t been built in Prykarpattia since 1993 and hospitals – since 2003.

“The construction of the central hospital in Halych started in 1978. Each and every president promised to complete the construction and only now, when the country is in extremely difficult conditions, when we defend the Ukrainian land from Russian aggression, the construction has been completed,” the president said.

According to the president, the new department of the hospital has become the result of the decentralization program. Funds for the construction have been allocated from the State Regional Development Fund, national and local budgets.

“It is crucial to unite these efforts,” Poroshenko said.

According to Poroshenko, the country has launched an experiment when extra revenues from customs are allocated for the road construction.

“This initiative must concern the entire Ukraine. We will build over 2,000 km of roads only in 2017. And we will continue the trend of 2016,” he said.
