President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has said that within the framework of his working visit to Washington he will hold a number of important meetings with the leadership of the United States.

“We will have a fantastic program. It is very important that my meeting as the Ukrainian president at the White House will take place earlier than Putin’s meeting. This will be done to ensure that everyone stays tuned, so that no one has a chance of injustice,” the president said while talking to the Ukrainian community in Washington.

He said that during the visit he would meet with U.S. President Donald Trump, U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, as well as the leadership of the Defense Ministry, the Ministry of Commerce and the U.S. Department of Energy.

“There has never been such a powerful visit. It is important for us to have an opportunity to talk about our cooperation in the sphere of security, politics and economy,” Poroshenko said.

According to Interfax-Ukraine, on Tuesday morning, the Ukrainian president will meet with U.S. Vice President Michael Pence, after which he will hold talks with U.S. President Donald Trump. In addition, on the same day, the Ukrainian president will hold talks with Defense Minister James Mattis, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund Christine Lagarde and World Bank President Jim Yong Kim.

It is expected that after negotiations with Trump, Poroshenko will talk with the media representatives.
