The United States says it is inadmissible to implement the Nord Stream 2 project due to its political nature, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said.
“I’d like to particularly thank you for our cooperation in the energy sector,” he said, addressing U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson at a meeting in Kyiv on July 9.
“And its very important part is the prevention of the construction of the politically oriented Nord Stream 2 project. And I am very grateful to our American partners for a very clear, effective and consistent position on preventing the implementation of this deeply politicized project.”
