You're reading: Poroshenko: Trump’s administration representatives to visit Ukraine soon, to sign important agreements

WASHINGTON – Representatives of the U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration will visit Ukraine soon, a number of agreements on cooperation will be signed during the visit, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said.

“During the talks in Pentagon with U.S. Defense Secretary, General James Mattis, during negotiations with the vice president, we agreed that in the near future Ukraine will be visited by several key members of the new presidential administration, several ministers. Very important agreements will be signed, including agreements on defense cooperation, including an agreement on defense procurement and an agreement on military and technical cooperation,” Poroshenko said at a briefing in Washington on Wednesday.

According to him, the delegations are expected to visit in the next two to three months. Poroshenko also said agreements in the energy sector are expected to be signed, as well as those on expanding cooperation with the U.S. Export-Import Bank and investment agency.
