You're reading: Poroshenko to visit Germany soon to discuss Nord Stream 2

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has announced that he intends to visit Germany in the coming weeks, where, in particular, the construction of Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline will be discussed.

“In the next few days, I am going to visit Germany, for two or three weeks. I have welcomed Germany with the formation of the coalition, I am confident that a new government will be formed, and this topic (the construction of Nord Stream 2) will certainly be on the agenda of our talks,” he said in an interview with Ukrainian television channels, which was broadcast on Wednesday evening.

The president noted that after the verdict of the Stockholm Arbitration, he discussed the topic of Nord Stream 2 with the leadership of Finland and Sweden.

“The issue of Nord Stream 2 was among others discussed during my yesterday’s talks with the Vice President of the United States of America, [Mike] Pence,” the head of state added.

According to Poroshenko, European countries demonstrate solidarity with Ukraine in the issue of Nord Stream 2
