You're reading: Poroshenko, World Bank Group president discuss healthcare services provision to Ukraine’s rural areas

Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko has called on President of the World Bank Group Jim Yong Kim to take under his patronage the assistance in the implementation of the healthcare reform in rural areas Ukraine.

The meeting took part in Kyiv on November 14, the Ukrainian president’s press service reported.

“I promise to take every effort for financial and technical support of introduction of reforms in healthcare and education areas,” the World Bank Group president said.

The president of the World Bank Group praised the successful adoption by the Ukrainian parliament of the bill dealing with rural medicine.

The two paid special attention to the implementation of the healthcare reform in Ukraine, particularly the development of healthcare services in rural areas.

Poroshenko told Jim Yong Kim about the implementation of the judicial reform, particularly the formation of the new composition of the Supreme Court and the establishment of the Anti-Corruption Court.

The president also noted that important laws in the area of education, pension and healthcare reforms were adopted this autumn.

The World Bank Group president praised the implementation of reforms in Ukraine. “I am optimistic about the future of Ukraine,” he said.
