You're reading: Groysman notes rise in customs revenues in 2016

Bringing order at the customs provided the receipt of an additional Hr 18 billion to the national budget of Ukraine in 2016, including a record high overfulfilment in December for Hr 4 billion, Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has said.

“One of the problems solution of which we started last year is bringing order at the customs. Our main task is to increase revenues to the national budget… I can speak about first such results: more than Hr 235 billion in 2016, which is 8% more than planned and 16% more than in the previous year. Some Hr 18 billion in addition to the plan is not a small sum,” he wrote on his Facebook page.

“The process was launched in August and in December we received an extra Hr 4 billion,” Groysman added.

As reported, with reference to the National Bank of Ukraine, imports of goods to the country in January-November 2016 increased by 1% compared to the same period of 2015. At the same time, the average devaluation of the hryvnia last year was 17%, including 2.1% in December.
