Ukrainian Presidential Administration’s Deputy Head for information policy Kyrylo Timoshenko has initiated an internal check whether certain remarks made by Volodymyr Zelenskiy in a speech at a joint briefing with President of the European Council Donald Tusk were identical to those made by ex-President Petro Poroshenko at the European Solidarity party congress.

“It’s been preliminarily established that employees of Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry who prepared talking points for Zelenskiy’s briefing at the same time continued working for Poroshenko… We regard this as a diversion by certain Foreign Ministry employees and a deliberate provocation from Poroshenko’s team,” the Presidential Administration of Ukraine said on Facebook on Wednesday.

The presidential administration said the contents and schedule for Zelenskiy’s talks with EU and NATO leaders were prepared by employees of the presidential administration, and representatives of ex-President Poroshenko did not influence issues discussed by the current head of state with European partners and friends of Ukraine.

“If confirmation is found of private cooperation of state employees from the Foreign Ministry with Poroshenko, harsh administrative, disciplinary and personnel steps will follow,” the presidential administration said.
