You're reading: Prosecutor General’s Office closes criminal case against Patients of Ukraine

Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) has closed a criminal case against Charitable Foundation Patients of Ukraine due to a lack of evidence, the foundation has reported on its website.

The foundation said that according to the document received from the PGO on Feb.21, the case was closed on Nov.14, 2017.

As reported, the main department of the State Fiscal Service in Kyiv after conducting an off-schedule check has not revealed the violation of legislation in the operation of the Charitable Foundation Patients of Ukraine and confirmed the targeted use of grants.

On Oct.11, 2017, Charitable Foundation Patients of Ukraine and All-Ukrainian Network of PLWH organization said that the National Police seized documents from them for off-schedule tax checks and audit.

The patient organizations said that the National Police and Prosecutor General’s Office accused them of procuring medicines using the money of the Global Fund at high prices. The organization said that they do not procure medicines within cooperation with the Global Fund.
