The director of Elita-center construction company and his associate have been arrested in Kyiv for seeking a $50,000 bribe, the press service of the Prosecutor’s Office in Kyiv has reported.
“On request of Kyiv’s local prosecutor’s office No. 9 the director of Elita-center construction company detained for seeking a $50,000 bribe was arrested for the period of 60 days with Hr 1.3 million bail option,” the prosecutor’s office said on its website on Feb.18.
In addition, the associate of the director, head of PSP Ltd. construction and investment company, was arrested for 60 days with a Hr 140,000 bail option. The prosecutor’s office will challenge the sum of the bail for the second detainee.
The prosecutor’s office recalled that the director of Elita-center LLC in collusion with the head of PSP Ltd. demanded from the owner of an apartment in the residential complex built by Elita-center $50,000 for the termination of a property dispute on declaring the ownership right to this apartment.
The crime figures were detained on Feb.15, 2018 in Kyiv.
The pretrial investigation is conducted with the involvement of Kyiv’s local prosecutor’s office No. 9 and the economy protection department in Kyiv of the economy protection department of the National Police of Ukraine.
