A total of 218 prosecutors of Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO), who did not submit applications on intention to pass qualification tests and to work in updated prosecution agencies, will be dismissed.

“They independently refused of certification for transfer to the Office of the Prosecutor General. They also include prosecutors who, contrary to the law and the procedure for prosecutors to pass qualification tests, have filed applications that do not comply with the established form. They are subject to dismissal in accordance with the law,” the PGO reported on its website.

Meanwhile, a number of 11,277 prosecutors or over 96 percent have already submitted such applications of a standard pattern.

As reported, the Verkhovna Rada adopted at the second reading and in general bill (No. 1032), which provides for the reform of the prosecution bodies and re-certification of prosecutors. The law provides for the creation of a new structure of prosecution authorities after the certification of prosecutors. Prosecutors of the PGO were the first, who passed the qualification tests.
