The conflict in eastern Ukraine was one of the issues addressed in a substantive phone call between Russian President Vladimir Putin and French President Emmanuel Macron.

“They discussed the prospects of resolving the internal Ukrainian conflict. They stated readiness to intensify joint work on this track, including in the ‘Normandy format’,” the Kremlin press service said following the conversation on Thursday.
