LVIV – A quarantine will be introduced in all educational institutions of Lviv from March 12 until April 3 to prevent an outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19), Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovy has said.

“The educational process will be suspended in educational institutions from March 12 until April 3, however students can visit their schools on Thursday and Friday, although there will be no classes,” he told a press briefing on March 11.

The mayor said that the city council’s commission for emergency situations approved this decision with regard to respective instruction of the government. Restrictions will be introduced on mass events with more than 200 participants in the city, as well as on group trips of the youth and children abroad.

Sadovy also called on employers to organize a possibility to work from home for employees with young children.
