You're reading: Quiet day in Donbas with only one casualty

After a recent spike of fighting in Donbas, July 21 was a relatively quiet day, according to the Ukrainian headquarters press service.

Between midnight and 6 p.m. the Russian-backed separatists breached truce five times, the press center said. The Ukrainian troops fired back.

In particular, around midnight the separatists fired various mortars at the Ukrainian troops in Vodiane in Donetsk Oblast.

“And at almost 2 a.m., as a result of the shelling of our positions near Novhorodske, in the direction of Donetsk, one Ukrainian soldier sustained a gunshot wound,” the statement said.

In the direction of Luhansk, there was shelling near the villages of Donets and Krymske.
