The Verkhovna Rada has granted a request of Ukrainian Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko about giving consent to the criminal prosecution of Maksym Polyakov of the People’s Front faction, but voted against his detention and arrest.

A decision to allow Polyakov’s prosecution was supported by 250 lawmakers at the plenary session on July 11, an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reported.

At the same time, only 125 and 111 parliamentarians voted for the requests for Polyakov’s detention and arrest, respectively.
