You're reading: Rada fires three members of National Broadcasting Council

The Verkhovna Rada has dismissed three members of the National Council of Ukraine on Television and Radio Broadcasting.

Some 313 deputies voted for the corresponding draft resolution (No. 2344) at an evening meeting on Oct. 31.

In connection with the end of the five-year term, Olha Herasymiuk, Oleksandr Ilyashenko and Oleh Chernysh, the members of the National Broadcasting Council, were dismissed.

The head of the committee on humanitarian and information policy Oleksandr Tkachenko stressed from the rostrum of the parliament, the resolution comes into force from the moment it is adopted.

The Verkhovna Rada appointed Herasymiuk, Ilyashenko and Chernysh as members of the regulator on their quota on July 4, 2014. Herasymiuk held the post of first deputy of the National Council, Ilyashenko – of executive secretary.
