Ukrainian MPs have supported at the final stage bill No. 3377 amending some Ukrainian laws in relation to government support in the sphere of culture, creative industries, tourism, small and medium-sized enterprises in connection with lockdown imposed due to COVID-19 disease spread.

A total of 343 MPs backed the document on June 16.

The bill proposes to extend government support in the form of providing a government subsidy for the development of film projects: for national feature films, animated films, documentaries, films for children (taking into account artistic and cultural significance), films of artistic and cultural significance (auteur films), television films, television series and debut films, in the amount of up to 100% inclusive of the total estimated cost of the corresponding film project.

According to the bill, temporarily, for the period of lockdown and until December 31, 2020, television and radio organizations and software service providers using the radio frequency spectrum are exempted from paying 50% of the cost paid for services provided by the Broadcasting, Radio Communication and Television Concern.
